FAQ
What makes a candle non-toxic?
A non-toxic candle is made without harmful additives such as paraffin wax, added phthalates, or lead-core wicks.
At Lavender Lane Candle Pour, our non-toxic candles are crafted with a premium coconut soy wax blend and phthalate-free fragrance oils. We focus on clean-burning ingredients that minimize soot and create a safer home fragrance experience.
Are coconut soy candles better than paraffin candles?
Coconut soy candles are widely considered a cleaner alternative to paraffin candles. Paraffin is petroleum-based and can produce more visible soot when burned.
Coconut soy wax candles burn more evenly, produce less soot, and are made from renewable plant-based materials. They also provide excellent scent throw without the heavy smoke often associated with traditional paraffin candles.
Do clean burning candles still have strong scent throw?
Yes. Clean burning candles can absolutely have strong scent performance.
Our coconut soy wax blend is specifically formulated to hold fragrance well, allowing our phthalate-free candles to fill a room with scent without being overpowering. You get a balanced, layered fragrance experience — not an artificial or harsh smell.
Are your candles phthalate-free?
Yes. All Lavender Lane candles are made with phthalate-free fragrance oils.
We carefully select fragrance ingredients that meet higher clean standards while still delivering beautiful, long-lasting scent. Transparency and ingredient quality are at the core of our brand.
Are your candles safe for pets?
While no candle should be burned unattended around pets, our clean burning coconut soy candles are formulated without paraffin and without added phthalates, making them a cleaner option for pet-friendly homes.
We always recommend burning candles in well-ventilated areas and keeping them out of reach of pets.
Do clean candles last longer?
Coconut soy wax candles often have a longer, more even burn time compared to traditional paraffin candles.
Because coconut soy wax burns at a lower temperature, it helps extend the life of the candle while maintaining consistent fragrance throughout. Extinguishing your candles after 4 hours burn time, and trimming your wicks will also extend the life of your candle.
Where are Lavender Lane candles made?
All of our hand-poured candles are made in small batches in Westborough,Massachusetts.
We combine clean-burning coconut soy wax, phthalate-free fragrance oils, and lead-free cotton wicks to create elevated, non-toxic candles designed for conscious homes.
How can I make my candle burn cleaner and last longer?
To get the most out of your clean burning candle:
• Trim the wick slightly before each burn. If the top of the wick is mushroomed or curled, trim right underneath this portion.
• Allow the melt pool to reach the edges of the container
• Avoid burning longer than 3–4 hours at a time
• Keep away from drafts
Proper candle care ensures a longer-lasting burn and optimal fragrance performance.
